Working within an ITIL aligned framework, Wavex classify a change as - the addition, modification or removal of a configuration item (CI), service, service component, and/or its associated elements, managing change is around managing risk, Wavex therefore have 3 categories of Change

  • Standard - a low risk change to a pre-approved list or activities
  • Major – a high risk change
  • Emergency - a change that will be made to restore service immediately

Any high-risk changes are put through a CAB (Change advisory Board) the CAB is made up of the relevant parties both technical, nontechnical, and in some cases, a client’s internal IT stakeholder, to ensure all eventualities are discussed and planed for.

And as with all of our ITIL processes, customers are able to see at any time where a Change is through our APEX® Portal.

Unlike the majority of IT providers who focus their monitoring platforms on particular items of infrastructure, Wavex assess every single device on the network looking for potential security vulnerabilities. This includes mobiles, printers, hubs & switches. We firmly believe that no matter how strong a firm’s security it only takes one unmanaged device to significantly raise the risk profile.
