The Wavex story so far
Gavin Russell, CEO, founded Wavex in June 1998.
While responsible for the infrastructure and user needs in the EMEA region of AT&T, Gavin found that perceptions of IT support were very disappointing, despite the impressive IT budgets. Gavin left AT&T with a desire to provide a better level of support and service. As a university educated software engineer, he began by re-evaluating the support processes and systems currently available in the marketplace. This marked the beginning of a long term software development project, culminating in the software systems which now serve as the backbone of Wavex's fully managed services.
Wavex was born from a desire to help people. IT is becoming more complex but used correctly can provide businesses a significant market advantage. Wavex is about helping companies succeed.
Since its inception in 1998, Wavex doubled it's revenues each year, a trend that continued through to 2008. With its cutting-edge service offering, adept staff and innovative marketing campaigns the trend of success continued.
Today, the results of that intellectual investment underpins the powerful functionality of The Wavex Platform. This client interface combines a unique suite of support applications with two key design objectives. Firstly, to enhance the overall customer experience. And, secondly, to provide excellent technical service delivery.
In June 2002, Peter Sweetbaum joined Gavin with a view to combining his recently started IT services business with Wavex. The newly merged business combined Peter's commercial, and financial experience with Gavin's service, technical and strategic strengths. This proved to be a winning combination of skills and experience, helping to continue rapid growth over the years that followed.
In 2006, looking to expand and leverage Wavex's successful service model across a wider customer base, the management team decided to build on its organic growth through acquisition. Wavex acquired the assets of CCT Integrated Systems Ltd. in August of that year. This saw Wavex expand from 58 employees to 79 full time staff, supporting a customer base of in excess of 10,000 users.
Since this acquisition, Wavex has continued to prosper through organic growth and through new services and products introduced subsequently. Wavex currently employs in excess of 100 staff, and supports thousands of people across the UK and internationally.
