Functions can be performed on up to 50,000 machines simultaneously, with any results returned to a single console machine. This allows an administrator or manager to query almost anything on the LAN, WAN or a host in real-time.

This is a list of functions currently offered by NETi:-

Sending/Receiving text messages Allowing messages to be selectively sent to any number of clients. E.g. A message warning of server maintenance might only need sending to clients logged on to a specific Exchange server, or using a particular file server. Messages 'popup' over any other application and remain until, either the administrator sends out a new message, or the user of the machine acknowledges the message. Monitor Error Message This function causes the agent to actively monitor all application errors (messages generated by MS Word or MS Excel, etc.) all system messages (problems with accessing drives, resource problems, etc.) and under NT, the Event Log and Dr. Watsons are also monitored. All detected messages are sent to the console, where administrator defined filters determine the priority of incoming messages. Application Blocking The ability to prevent users from running specific applications or providing a list of the only applications a user can run. It a blocked program is run a window will appear giving the user a unique code which has to be passed on to the NETi administrator for the unlock code. Hardware Inventory NETi now allows you to query various hardware classes on any 95/98 or 2000 machine. Allowing you to quickly produce lists of network cards, monitor details, system devices, in fact, every detail available from the device manager. Modules and processes Neti can provide you with information about all the modules (programs) currently running, allow you to find out all the supporting files required by that module and then can automatically compare the versions with any other machines. Providing a mechanism to quickly determine if various updates have caused particular programs problems. Messaging profiles A mechanism has been included to allow you to query all the messaging profiles on machines, it provides you with the name of the server providing messaging services (e.g. Microsoft Exchange), its x400 address and the user name. File details Details of any file can be obtained. File size, date stamp, attributes and version information. Task list Provides a list of every program currently running on the client. Ping Allows an administrator to test continuity between two remote nodes. Trace Route Provides information about a route between two remote nodes. Whois Provides information about IP address ownership of Internet side clients Local and Network Drives Details of all local, cd-rom and network drives can be obtained from all clients. For local drives disk space is also reported. Machine usage Monitor mouse and keyboard activity, to determine if the client is actively in use. Network configuration Returns details of how the 'network' is configured on clients. System configuration Returns details of how the system is configured. Run commands Launch an application, and get the results returned by that application. Upload File Allows the transfer of files to any location on a remote host. Only uses TCP/IP, so there are no inter-Domain restrictions. TCP/IP session details Extensive TCP/IP Statistics. Average ethernet traffic detected on local subnet. Helpful in determining if network infrastructure requires upgrading. Reports Reports can be generated for; application usage, that is, details of what, when and who ran a particular program. specific file locations on hosts. internet usage including cookies, files and other internet details. detailed information about machine specification and installed software. Types Details of file associations. Hardware Details of most information that can be found in the device manager can now be queried (information like network card, modem type, monitor type..).
