About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO and indirectly to the Chairman and the Board, the Head of Sales’ main focus is to manage sales of Wavex services, platform and products into new and existing clients. You will ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through planning, deployment and management of the sales team as well as the technical resources that design our solutions. You will work closely with the CEO and board of directors in the development and implementation of the Wavex business strategy.


Sales management
  • Own the sales strategy. Work with the executive team to define actions and targets in order to ensure it is delivered in a timely and effective manner
  • Build the ‘leads’ pipeline and throughput volumes via both, in-bound and out-bound channels in order to secure profitable, long term revenue for Wavex with new and existing clients
    • Plan and carry out direct marketing activities (in conjunction with the CEO) to agreed parameters, inter alia: budgets, sales volumes, product mix and timescales
    • Manage the external marketing agency activities (in conjunction with CEO)
  • Deliver budgeted annual, quarterly and monthly new business revenues. Ensure timely and accurate usage of the Wavex CRM and other systems by the sales function, including development of leads, prospects and campaign databases. Monitor the sales forecast to ensure it is met within the agreed timeframes
  • Drive sales policies, procedures and delivery to established timelines and support the agreed corporate sales models, templates, product strategy and target client segments
Team management
  • Be a leader and a role model in the Wavex organisation. Be highly self-motivated, focused and inspire the sales team
  • Manage the Business Development Managers, Sales Executive, Service Development Managers and Client Architects. Define team’s KIPs and review on a regular basis to ensure the team stays on track
Working relationships
  • (External) Promote Wavex values and how the business choses to engage with its clients – ensure urgency and accuracy in all functions, appropriate focus and engagement practices with C-suite client contacts, to develop strong personal and profitable relationships
  • (Internal) Work collaboratively across the business to develop new product initiatives, plan and implement appropriate reporting systems, programs and practices. Additionally, develop pricing, commercial strategies and a detailed sales plan to support and execute the agreed Wavex strategy
Qualification and Experience

Must have:

  • Degree educated
  • Experience selling managed IT services (experience of working in the MSP environment would be advantageous)
  • At least 10 years of hands-on, sales and sales management experience selling professional services
  • Demonstrable experience of building and growing sales team and delivering exceptional results
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the value proposition for IaaS, Cloud, Security, DR, etc.
  • Track record of client acquisition in both new business and within existing accounts (selling to 100-500 user organizations), being able to demonstrate management of the end-to-end sales cycle from pipeline to acquisition
  • Strong team management experience
    • Evidence of growing multi-functional teams
    • Ability to nurture/ lead teams. Leading by example/role-modelling (i.e. able to do and also to lead)
  • Experience of developing new markets, from initial planning to execution
  • Experience of collaborative working with the Management team, Operations and the Board
  • Evidence of creating and improving process and implementing improvement programmes
